Dear Mr.Richard,

Thank you for your kind invitation to join you for the Oxford
Company sponsored dinner at the XYZ meeting on July 17th.

Unfortunately,I will not be able to attend as I have to leave
for Tokyo early on that day.

Your invitation is much appreciated and perhaps I will be
able to make it at next year's XYZ meeting.Thank you again
